Cherry blossoms in bloom

Let's talk about flowers! It's the beginning of cherry blossom season which means Spring, picnics, long hikes in Inwood Hill Park and maybe some trips upstate! Cherry blossoms are a huge part of Japanese culture. There are celebrations and events in the spring that focus on these beautiful trees. Did you know that in Japan, during cherry blossom season, the weather reporter will even tell you when the trees will be blooming in your area? Well, NY1 probably won't tell us that, but we do have some beautiful cherry blossoms in Fort Tryon Park, that are worth checking out as the weather warms up.

Speaking of flowers, have you tried our Hana Sushi? "Hana" means flower in Japanese, and we make our maki rolls in the shape of flower petals. You can then choose, ikura (salmon roe), lobster salad, or house pickles to be indulgently layered on top. Mmmm. Start with a base of salmon, tuna or avocado, and then pick a topping (or two!!) This is our little twist on a classic maki roll. We hope you enjoy it!
