Tan Tan Udon

Tan Tan literally means “noodles being carried” in Chinese. It was the original takeout/delivery dish!! No, there was no grubhub or uberEATs back then, it was just a dude with a pole. With Chinese origin, Japanese noodle shops have been putting their spin on this dish in the last century. It can be served hot or cold (we prefer Hot!) and though there can be many versions, it usually has a creamy sesame paste element (which we make from scratch!), some kind of chili or hot oil (we also make from scratch!), as well as a balance of sweet and sour flavors.

This is one of our favorite dishes, and we were super excited to combine Tan Tan with our house made Udon Noodles. Thick chewy noodles with a rich sweet, sour and spicy soup. Perfect on a cold day when you are staying in.

We have a couple of fun new menu items, so stay tuned! Hint: one of them is vegan!
